ASA Sailing Courses



ASA 101: Basic Keeelboat Sailing

This is a very comprehensive course for the beginning sailor. Plan to spend three fun days on the
water learning the basics of sailing, including: sailing theory, nomenclature, points of sail, safety
equipment, crew overboard rescue, sail trim, basic knots and safe boating practices.

Upon completion of the course, you will be able to sail a boat of about 20 feet in length in light to
moderate wind and sea conditions in familiar waters without supervision.

Rates: $400 single + $39 ASA fee        $750 for two + $39 ASA fee per student
Includes all course materials and ASA log book.

ASA 103: Basic Coastal Cruising        Prerequisite for this course is ASA101.

The course is designed to expand upon your basic keelboat knowledge and refine your basic
sailing skills. You will spend another two fun days on the water that include: boat handling under
sail and power, chart reading and navigation, reefing and heaving to, and much more.

Rates: $375 per student

ASA 104: Bareboat Chartering        Prerequisites for this course are ASA101,103.
If your dream is to charter or bareboat a cruising sailboat, this the course for you. This is an
intermediate level course for individuals with sailing experience. The two day course includes an
overnight at anchor. You will be introduced to trip planning, packing and provisioning, and will
expand your anchoring, seamanship and coastal navigation skills.

Rates: $450 per student
Includes all course materials and provisions.
